I feel sorry for your situation, and I know how difficult it is, because I am pretty much on the same boat (I mean, we have a newborn too, 4 weeks old). Except, I recently lost my job and got some severance pay for February. Plus, I took advantage of the law and collected some money from my employer for the return ticket. I ask them to pay cash rather than buying me the actual ticket. So, I do have some time to breath.
I am actively looking for a job right now, and the only thing happening is the meetings with the recruiters every so often. If you call a recruiter, they will obviously want to see you in person before they submit your resume. Time goes by so fast, it�s been a month already, no client interviews yet.
But, I do see some positions open for my skill set, it�s not so dry. So, I haven�t lost my hope yet.
Anyway, I�ve decided not to look for a H1 sponsor anymore, because it is going to be a total waste of time in this tough economy. I�m only looking to use my EAD. I�m ready to relocate, if the job is in a different location. I�ve also decided to take a pay cut, if at all necessary.
So, that�s my side of the story�
BTW, if you have made up your mind to go back to your home country, why can�t you take advantage of the unemployment benefits? Some states like Massachusetts even pay your COBRA premiums when you apply for unemployment. Because, that will give you some more time to survive.
I hope you will find a job pretty soon. Good luck and take care of the newborn.

Don't worry, you will be let in after completing 3 years outside of Canada. But don’t wait till the last moment to make your move

If you have been a permanent resident for less than five years then you must show that you will be able to meet the minimum of 730 days physical presence in Canada at the 5-year mark.
When you land in Canada by October 2009, the immigration officer at POE will determine if you would be able to meet the 730 days requirement at the 5-year mark. If so, he will let you in.
Once you're in, make sure that you don't travel outside of Canada even for a single day for the next 2 years, failing which you will loose your PR instantly.
Also make sure to keep records of your ties with Canada from day one (like house rent receipts, utility bills etc..) cuz you might need those while renewing your PR at the end of the fifth year. Good luck!

Online tracking or toll-free numbers tracking is really useless. It doesnt say much about the content of correspondence.
The automated messages(online and phone) say one of the 5-6 standard recorded messages. Nothing more. If there is an RFE, its says there was an "Inquiry". It doesnt say what the RFE was about whehter it was about the beneficiary or the employer. If you talk to a live person, they say that you are not entitled to information as you are the beneficiary and you need to talk to the petitioner or lawyer of the petitioner.
What you need is COPIES of everything that the lawyer sends out to USCIS. Preferably BEFORE he sends out that fedex. So that you can verify yourself if they have made typos or mistakes in names, dates, etc.(most common paperwork errors).

It is possible if the job description is different. And, you can use your EB3 date, provided your EB3 140 is approved.

Getting the driver's license is not the problem, I know it will come. Problem here is why I cannot drive outside SC for up to 60 days waiting for the DL card? Remember I've to surrender my old SC license. This is serious limitation to my work, e.g. I need to go to Atlanta on 08/19 and I cannot drive there.
In September I will go to Italy, what if I don�t get my DL till then?

On Checking the SC dmv site and it is interesting to note that non-citizens are not allowed to renew their license online. I guess this is the result of illegal immigration reform thing which is now a part of so many states along with SC. And I think they are running background checks against the legal status of any non-citizen folks. My take would be that you should consider meeting the senator and explaining the issue. They can basically expedite the process so that you wont have to wait for a long time.

To my horror, I accidently lost my wife's passport, i am such a stupid...She had the stamps for F-2 and H-4.
We have police report for the lost passport.
I already checked Indian embessy's website, they have instructions for duplicate passport.
My question is what happens to the Visa stamps. Does she have to go back to India to get it stamped? Can she go to coutry's like Canada and Mexico to get it stamped? would that be very difficult to get a new stamp?

I work as a consultant for one of the big 5 firms implementing SAP applications. What is the job code referenced for this job? I want to know the job category it falls under as per the Dictionary of Occupation Title or the O*Net published by DOL. My company did not provide me this information but any help will be greatly appreciated.

You have no other way to get this information other than your employer or attorney who filed your case. If your case was filed under PERM process then I remember, few months back I saw an access database floating around in a forum which had the information on companies who filed LC for which position during end of 2005-2006 period. Rightly it did not have any information on candidates. I cannot remember where did I find it.
We can all speculate what it would be but not sure. We also do not know why do you need this info and what is your current status with regard to GC...

- When I would check the case status online for my renewal apps, I kept getting a message "Case Retreival falied. Receipt # DOES NOT EXIST" :eek::eek::eek:
- GC approved on Aug 9
- Lawyer gets a copy of my Approval Notice for I-485 on August 20 and sends a copy to me by overnight mail ALONG with the renewal AP which was approved on August 18 - a good nine days after GC approval:confused::confused::confused:

Since nobody attempted to answer your question, let me give a try.
The answer depends on what is the EB3-PD ? If someone (like me) had a PD of 2001 , then it would have become current more than a couple of times. Just in the last two years my PD became current thrice (including July Fiasco), and am still waiting for my approval.
But if you are asking how many times did EVERYONE became current, then possibly only once (The July '07 fiasco). I can tell this for sure since 2000. I am not aware of any info before that year.
