I agree with PCS. We should keep this as a volunteer organisation and send email newsletter,word of the mouth etc, for fundraising. I am not sure if we should impose a membership fee as this is a volunteer org and also people who want to donate money would do it anyways. Just my thought:D

We have do it in a smart way. We need to get the atten of media.
Send the flowers on july 10th. If lot of people do this the media will cover this.

These guys are so paranoid these days that I would not be surprised if they send for bomb sniffign dogs and anti-anthrax teams when they receive several flower packages on the same day :rolleyes: :D

my american colleagues do know about immigration problem.....they dont give a jack.........afterall they dont even socialize much with co-workers....i am here in alabama.......i dont know how it is in other places...

Is there something we can do to avoid this PIMS delay.......
I have been trying to ask the attorney and even the free chat on IV but no one is giving a clear solution on how to avoid pims delay. :mad:
I too need to go for stamping and am delaying it just because of this pims delay.

I think its ok. I am in the same boat. But the applicaiton will be transfered to TSC.
Not sure how long it will take.

Thanks for the offer. I am not sure if I have permission to shoot any thing on a federal govt agency premises, but will do my best. My sources tell me that some main stream media will cover it. For us to be able to make a good impact, we need to have people there.
As USCIS announced about forwarding Flowers to Hospitals , some one can go to those hospitals and cover that.

I was in dilemma just like every one; keep postponing things right from the day I got EAD(2years passed).
Since I am on employment with H1b/GC sponsoring employer full time, I did not see a problem starting a company on my spouse name and start working part time as Corp to corp relation.
My feeling is, even if my status changed to EAD ( I don't know how to inform USCIS or USCIS know if I work for my spouse single member company), what will be the impact? RFE's for the next 3-5years? In such scenarios H1b/GC employer will any way ans those calls.
Though, I don't have any proof/idea of what the status I am/will be in using EAD as part time. I simply took the plunge with my gut feeling and economy situation.
If there is a chance or idea you want to put forth with your own company, there is no good time than today!

Why not try the Nikon D80 just released for purchase sometime in Sept 2006 at $999. Better than D70 probably more like trhe D200 and not as complicated it would appear.:)

Guys, I am in the same boat with my passport expiring in 2007. I will have to get a new passport since the current one was already valid for 10 years (issued in 97).
Does any one here have any experience / ideas on how long it takes to get the new passport from the consulate here ?

A co-worker and I applied together at exactly the same time.
We got approvals for LC and I-140 within weeks of each other.
Now, our PD became current in September 2006, he got approved a few days ago and...I found out I am stuck in the name check shit!
FYI, his name is extremely common and mine is extremely rare (in my entire life, I have never met someone with the same name!), so go figure...:confused: :confused: :confused:

Hello gurus,
3 Years back, before applying my 485 and my labor was pending status, i came to know that the need of birth certificate at I485 stage and I asked the records from the local panchayat and they could not find out any records on my name. Then filed the complaint in the court by providing the my passport, mark statements. After many weeks, the court ordered to provide me the birth certificate with the delayed registration 3 years back that is only on 2007. Now i have the birth certificate with the delayed registration, Now in this situvation, is it possible to go to the municipality to ask them the non-availability certificate ?

Basically noterized copies on indian stamp paper and submit to USCIS along with your latest birth certificate. No need to provide Non availability certificate. This is what I did. My GC got approved. Consult your attorney ..they will give more information.

I strongly discourage the word "Attroney" for everything. Just because of memebers like kriskris these Attroney's are living lavishly. What the heck these Attroneys know that we don't know. Don't we know how to write our names? Don't we know how to fill an application form? Please stop saying "Attroney" for everything. These are not complex things. Please note according to one survey 70% of Americans don't know how to fill Bank application. Attroneys are just making the money out of this situation.

Inviting parents to the USA and getting their visa is not dependent on what your immigration status is in the US. As long as you can support them (job/salary) and you are legally present in the USA, you can invite them. Getting the Visa is entirely dependent on the interview. No amount of supporting paper work will help if the interviewer determines (for whatever reason) that they will become public charge in the USA (even health wise) or that they will not leave back to the home country.

Hope he finds a job soon. It's sad to see bad things happening to good people.
But I have a lot to be thankful for. Thanks to IV, he has his EAD and can have one less thing to worry about in his new job search.
