This year I got:
Chuck Season 2
a Candle/Mug warmer
a Mug from my cousin at University of Hawai'i
a new pair of frames (I guess it is time to retire these old 8year old frames)
Gift cards for Border Books & Old Navy
2 $75 Apple Gift cards
and $200 cash.
Finally I can make some needed upgrades to my MP :D

While watching the keynote stream. I was shocked to hear "security sperms" in the keynote stream. Tune in at 5:40 and you'll hear it. Very funny!

Excellent sounding. I must admit I like vistas tab system (clicking the box to make a new tab. Not that there is a problem with a ?T but I sometimes I want to click. You can get this already (along with Tab dragging and dropping) in Safari by getting SAFT:
http://www.pimpmysafari.com
Other free plugins might also have it, but Saft is so good I never bothered to check anything else.

In this day and age. Earthquakes, dolts on both sides of the congress, and economic mal-practice, Atari appears to be a blast of past fun, take it for what it is worth.....

This really reminds me of when ipods launched. People then were also saying too expensive/where's the need/existing alternatives.
This is another launch like that: I was looking at getting a Nokia E61 over a Blackberry as the email support was better. I was also interested in Three in the UK's X Series as it offers Skype, Yahoo etc. But the iphone blows all that away.
I can't think of a single product with the same significance as the iphone will have. Not just because of what it can do but because it's from Apple. In 2-3 years this will be the phone everyone has like now the ipod is the music player everyone has.
To Steve it really must feel like starting over.
Imagine taking for granted that your friends/contacts/family/customers/clients will be on email/online wherever they are let alone that you will be too.
From every angle this is going to change how businesses are run and how we interact with each other forever.

Hey, I'm not sure how to refer to this.. I think its a string format but thought I would come here to get some help.
I am wanting to get my user to enter a 20 character string, they will be numbers and I want to after every fifth number to insert a hyphen.. as the person is typing... how can this be done?
thanks.

This is news? I heard about these things (and saw screenshots, and videos) back in August when people got ahold of the Leopard WWDC preview and broke their NDAs (or pirated it).

Maps needs the ability to turn off toll roads and highways. Would have been helpful on this vacation.

Really? Have you read the thread? This is far from the only argument given to get rid of the death penalty.
Yes, and they're all just bleeding heart emotional responses, and i don't buy into that crap. Sorry, but my opinion on this isn't changing. Funny, the polls say non-religious people between the age of 18-29 are most likely to support the death penalty, and that's exactly where i fit.

But it was treason. There is a good reason that was a capital offense. The scale of death and misery that can be dealt through effective treason is far greater than than even a spray of bullets. If you support capital punishment, you should be in favor of hanging a traitor.
Has he been officially charged with treason? I ask because I haven't seen the charge sheet, provided that it has been published.
Going off the constitutional definition of treason (Article 3, section 3 for those interested), I think the state is going to have a hard time making it stick. PFC Manning didn't make war on the US, nor did he turn the documents, which I'll grant could be construed as aiding, over to an enemy power. Unless, of course, we decided to declare war on Australia while I was napping.
A very long prison term spent making furniture seems more appropriate in this case.
For that matter, why not Madoff? The effects of his mischief harmed far more people than even Manning. Why should he be spared the chair?
Madoff didn't kill anyone, and therein lies the difference. The main purpose of the death penalty is not punishment, but a means for the state to assert that only the state shall have the authority to take a life.

So basically Apple will still have the crummy Maps.app on iOS 5.0
Not necessarily, as the article says, Apple posted a job for Maps in 2009.
