I guess most of us dont want to take the pain of "mailing the letters"
How abt someone obtains online authorization to mail letters on members behalf.
I mean members authorize mailing a letter on their behalf by IV.
!?
Question is asked when they sign in... or login to the website!
snail mailed, signed letters are far more effective. straight from the horse's mouth, so please believe it.
it's 5 min and a few cents...tell me you can't do that (pain) again...?

She checked my file over 20 minutes and also talked to her supervisor. they thought USCIS maybe lost my application somewhere. right now, I am waiting response from NSC for my application. I really do not know what need to do.

why do we even need a bulletin in this case? sheer waste of time for even the folks publishing it,
waste of gov resources, IT guy has to update, gov employee has to check, someone has to send out the release.
Seems to me like its been decided by BO or HC .......go home everyone.
Also says no change expected in the coming months.

It also appears unlikely that it will be necessary to establish a cut-off date other than those already in effect for the Second preference category. Cut-off dates continue to apply to the China and India Second preference categories due to heavy demand.
Based on current indications of demand, the best case scenarios for cut-off date movement each month during the coming months are as follows:
Employment Second:
China: none to two weeks
India: no movement
Employment Third:
Worldwide: three to six weeks
China: one to three weeks
India: none to two week

added that line before .showDialog() and it fixed the problem...

Hi,
I am in the same situation.
I went to India to get married in sep 2008 and went for stamping for my wife and she got stamped for H4 untill 2011 feb. and we are back on to US. After reaching here I have my GC in my mail.
my PD is may 2006 I am waiting to add my wife to my GC I talked to the lawer and he said once the dates are current we can add her.
lease let me know if we need to do any thing..

There is nothing like adding her to your GC.You have to apply for her 485 when your date is current again ..Nothing you can do till your dates are current again ..I guess you missed opprtunity in Sep 08 .

My questions:
While on H1B can a professional engineer sign a design and plans offcourse for free. Say to a friend design and plan.
While owning this business one is free to sponsor and support other H1Bs. In other words, you can hire a h1B as well (like your spouse). This could be yourself, although that would be at some level unfair.
Incidentally, you could get a second H1B to work with your friend through a company that your friend set up to do this consulting work (if your original H1B employer lets you and you keep your original employment). You would have to go through the labor etc. Secondary H1Bs are suprisingly not uncommon.
As for just signing plans for free, and not being paid for it, but sharing in the profits resulting from the venture is pushing the "intent" of the law. I think what the USCIS wants to see is you taking a passive approach in the business (say giving up front investment) or making contacts available to the business or giving a talk or seminar to promote the business. Signing off a design would I think be considered as day to day operations of the business which would violate the intent of the law. But like all laws (esp. immigration ones) everything is a question of interpretation. You get a good lawyer to back you and you would be ok with how much you can get away with, within the law.

u can log onto USCIS website and check the status of ur past and pending cases.
but u need to know the LIN #'s...
so add ur previous 140 case and check for any updates..simple!

I have taken filights to Indore from both Mumbai and Delhi. There is not much difference per say, both of them provide you the shuttle to domestic airport. The delhi shuttle takes slightly longer (like 10 mins more). Both places have good facilities to wait too.
So I guess take whichever is cheaper.
One important point to remember though is that if you are travelling in Dec and Jan, Delhi does get a lot of fog and flights get delayed. So if your domestic flight got delayed, you might the international one or if the international one get delayed then you might be stuck in delhi for a while. I got stuck there for a day (although the airline provided nice accomadation).
So if going in Dec or Jan, choose Mumbai.
So I guess take whichever is cheaper.

Thanks. This sure is helpful. btw i have a Canadian PR card. one less headache in step 3 :) But of course I love it here so im stuck here doing all kinds of circus for 8 years to continue staying.
new H1 and H1 visa renewal are done in all US embassies in Canada.
1. Look out for dates, after registering and paying fees. USD 9.50 for one appointment of one, two, three .... members.
2. Dates are not available, but are released around 20th in bult; also, check out each hour.
3. Allow 30 days for Canadian TRV (temporay visitors visa) to come in mail
4. Go for visa interview.
I did all the above, but had to cancel Vancouver appointment for lack of leave from a very good and generous employer ( I am in operations). Any other questions, please feel free to PM me.

This happened with my wife case too. Company applied on June 1 , no update till dec ending , changed to premium processing as we have to go out of country got the approval in two days and copy in 7 days. I think its deliberate. But we are happy that we have it in hand. You cant do anything with this but rather give them extra 1000$ they want.
