She looks to be enjoying the VLC app ;)
I keep trying to change my wallpaper, but I enjoy the dark minimal look of this to much. Helps me focus on the things I need to do

The criticism of the Cloud, is the user is yielding control to someone else.
But to sell it as, "be the king of your castle" in the cloud, suggest more user control, and security.

However, do you think we can change edesignuk's official title from mini-mod to mod mini, more inline with Apple's product naming scheme? :p

FCP is definitely NOT the current standard. Avid is still the winner here. I currently run Avid, premiere CS5 and FCP. Avid being my go to. Those of you thinking about switching to premiere, i urge you to look at media composer 5.
Avid has some of the most sophisticated cutting tools I have ever seen.
I've used it back during the Express DV days and was so impressed with how perfectly you could cut with it.
Other programs were more useful for effects, but as an editor Avid was tops.
It's a shame that apple has let FCP slide into such out of date condition.

This question is for those with new-ish (Intel) laptops who check the option to convert high bitrate files to 128-kbps AAC before copying to the Shuffle:
Does it take long to convert the files? I have a 1GHz TiBook, and it is taking forever to get those files on there with the option checked...

Well based on the news that Apple's new NC data center was the largest for a single company. I would say yes.
No way ... each gmail account gets upwards of 7 gigabytes of storage ... do you even know how many gmail accounts there are?
Google definitely has more than Apple, it may be that they spread it over multiple data centers, so it's not counted as one.
Yea.. But they dot have 7GB actually sitting there for that one customer. They might have 10 allocated to 10 customers and add as they need to, because I bet 99% of gmail users don't have 1Gb on there! People don't think about stuff like this...
So of EVERYONE had a 64gb iPad that was going to have auto sync to these servers, a 64gb space might work for 2 or 3 customers that only have half or a third of their iPad filled. When a company says you get 7GB they don't hol that space for you, they just allow you to use that much.

I tend to agree. Cut programs until our expenses match our current 'revenues.' When the two are equal or are in the black, let's immediately pass an balanged-budget amendment so this problem never happens again. And, raise taxes so our spending is less than our revenues and we can start paying off the debts Reagan, Bush and Bush left our grandchildren. It's time to start acting like grown-ups.
For the record, they are paying their fair share. The top 50% of wage earners pay over 95% of the income tax. Your disgusting attack on all conservatives wanting to '****' over all citizens is just that... disgusting. They don't pay 95% of all taxes. In addition, if you look at their income, they have tons of it that is not taxed (So, shouldn't they be paying even more? I don't have much income that isn't taxed, why should they?) They also have and control the vast, vast majority of the wealth in this country that is not taxed until sold for a gain (whether you realize it or not, there's some big concepts in that one sentence). Finally, all the other taxes are regressive or at best flat, which means the poor and middle classes are paying more than their fair share of those taxes. You don't seem to care about that, you're more interested in protecting 100-200 of the wealthiest of the wealthy.
Certainly you understand that increasing taxation on the wealthy and corporations certainly won't help. Certainly you understand that decreased taxation on the wealthy and corporations certainly hasn't helped, and in fact hurt. You see that, right? If not, here's a mirror, look over your shoulder at the Bush administration. It wasn't that long ago.

thats not the issue i'm contesting, what i'm saying is why do most american parents take issue at their kids having sex, it makes no sense unless your kid is stupid and has random unsafe sex.
Gotcha.
But there are many many reasons they would have a problem with that. The most predominant reason would probably be... Dare I say it... Religion.

Best sit in arcade game ever !!!!
I must admit that the sit-in version did give that in-the-X-Wing-cockpit feeling. My favorite sit-in, though, was Omega Race.
By the way, InuNacho, yes, the original sounds for Yar's Revenge left a lot to be desired. However, Yar's Revenge was IMHO the best original (i.e. not adapted from an arcade version) Atari 2600 sci-fi game in terms of gameplay.
...Debate, anyone?

Does anyone know a way that i can make a gap in the border...
I want to create a 3px gap in top and bottom of the Right Nav Left Border line..
This is so that it won't touch the other borders.

I love that Spiderman wallpaper! I'm using The Beatles - Abbey Road wallpaper right now. I saw it in this topic a few months ago. Been lurking for a while now and finally decided to make an account.
Anyone have any good Batman wallpapers?
Here they have tons of Batman wallpapers. Just go to Search, and type Batman.

The best way to avoid the experience of the music industry is to respond to a changing market and give people what they want before they get mad enough to expend the effort to just take it and feel justified.
I couldn't agree with you more. The current model that the MPAA and the RIAA are trying to preserve is simply irrelevent with the advent of digital media as a realistic and easily obtainable alternative. They had a chance to embrace it and make serious changes to the way they do things (i.e. find some way to deliver content at essentially no cost to the consumer but still turn a profit through ads and other sponsorship, which would work because the cost of producing the content is decreasing really quickly) but they chose to fight it and they can't win. The iTS is a compromise between the two, but I'll stick to free media and pay to go to concerts for bands I like and see some movies in the theatres.

I have a 250gb Seagate Free Agent Go Flex drive ... I was just wondering when they would launch the thunderbolt adapter and would i then be able to use that drive for time machine? with thunderbolt speeds?
I have the 1.5TB model and I've also been wondering if/when they would launch the Thunderbolt adapter. Although I already use mine for time machine.

I wouldn't mind a 2gb shuffle so I don't have to sync as often.
Wait a year, and you will probably see a 2GB Shuffle with some sort of playlist feature.

I want a device the size of an ipod that I can check my mail on, chat, and do some web-surfing for info, all without the ridiculous GUI deformities of windows mobile and treo, etc. and simple, easy to use hardware to back it up. I want to take it out of my pocket, see what I want, then put it away. Seamless integration with my macs as well.
Maybe I'm in a nitch, but I don't see how this could lose. Make it simple, powerful, and seamless and people will ditch the baffling ordeal of their ipaq-esque phones in a heatbeat.
I'm in the same boat. There are enough of us to sell a ton of those phones. Bring it on !

Hi,
We have a volume licence for Office 2008. We have a mixture of network logins and local logins on our 10.6.7 macs. Is there a way to get rid of the office setup assistant? Teachers are complaining that when students open word this always comes up and confuses students and wastes time.
TIA
