yawn. how many more stories about this stupid "location tracking".
There's nothing stupid about this. Its a huge privacy violation to have your locations constantly tracked without your consent, even if the data is not used directly by Apple. This easily accessed location data on your phone was already widely known and used by police agencies since last year according to several articles, so you can just imagine what it is like for someone in a police state to have all their locations for the past year easily accessed when they are arrested. That's not to mention spying or abusive spouses, industrial espionage, and many other reasons to want to maintain some confidentiality.
The fact that Apple only bothered to care about this or look into it after it became a media storm shows that there is a simple lack of privacy controls and concern about privacy at the company.

Honestly, I don't really see what the big deal is. Compared to previous demands of movies and music companies (variable pricing, etc.), asking Apple to limit the number of iPods the movie can be viewed on doesn't seem like an unreasonable request. How many iPods do you own? Yes, it is one more limitation, but I can't really see this limitation as dramatically effecting your ability to view the movie. And, if this small concession opens the floodgates of all of the major movie studios to begin selling movies on iTunes, then I think it's more than fair.
Yeah, I don't care one way or the other. At my parents' house, five iPods are fed from a single computer. But only one of these is even capable of playing video. And how often are people watching full-length movies on iPods? Other than maybe traveling, they'll watch on the iTV or on the computer itself.
On the other hand, it would add an unnecessary complication to things.

This site doesn't mention a 8 GB 3GS but its clear from the apple store that the product does exist.

Geez, dude, it's all about saving time so you *do* have more time on your own. For example, texting is now used in situations where you would have called/answered a phone call before. Texting is more efficient because you can just put off answering the text until later (you could also not take a call and just call the person back later, but you wouldn't know how urgent the call was unless you took the time to check your voice mail if they left one).
Likewise, I use the humble web features on my Sony Ericsson phone a *lot*, to look up restaurant/bar addresses, movie times, etc. when I am out and about. Overpriced. These games are ancient and most of them don't offer much gameplay at all. Plus it cost atari essentially nothing to put this app out. If they made it $0.99 for the hundred pack then it'd be no-brainer, we'd buy it just for the nostalgia alone. I could conceivably see paying up to $4.99 for the hundred pack for the very small handful of games that are actually worth playing. But $14.99 for these junky games? No way.
p.s., I'm not saying all old games are bad, quite the contrary, there are a lot of fantastic old games that still hold up well, but the atari era of games were especially crappy.

Having trouble computing what exactly is "overdone" about the UI of this app. It is simple, clean and well organized.

Tweetie 2 is beautiful, but not having push notifications is pathetic. Whats even more pathetic is his excuse that "its borderline impossible to do it reliably". Thats funny, because I have SimplyTweet & Echofon Pro and they both push great!

how is this any different than microcenter selling the 13.3" MBP for $999.... $200 less than Apple sells it for. last week I was in the apple store in NJ garden state plaza mall... they had the MBP for $1199. I drove 5 minutes away to the microcenter and quickly purchased one for my sister for $999 and only 3.5% tax. If microcenter can do it, I dont see why TJ MAxx cant.

At work we have our internal ethernet network and also wifi.
The wifi network tends to be that bit quicker because there's not as many users on it. Is there a way that I can tell particular applications to use the wifi network but still be connected to the corporate ethernet?

I agree that the new design is very bland. I think they know what they are doing. The car companies seem to believe that this type of design will sell the most cars in the U.S. The Hyundai Sonata is a slight break from this mold.
I don't think the new Jetta and Passat are ugly, but the style is most definitely boring.
The new Sonata takes a few cues from the Mercedes Benz CLS. Some might all it a bit fussy but it is at least not boring.
