If you have to ask...you need to do some more basic research to understand lens construction and design.
Or to phrase another way: if you have to ask why it's so expensive, they're not trying to sell it to you.
But why would you want to get a lens that outresolves the camera sensor? Canon, Nikon and others already sell lenses that outresolve their sensors.

don't you just plug your camera / card reader into your computer to import? the process should be the same for stills and video.
are you saying your not using imovie 09 but an earlier version that doesn't support AVCHD? google will provide the specs/ability of each imovie version.

I've really got an itch to buy a new computer - I've had my powerbook 12 months almost and... I just want something new to play with...!
I could easily afford an eMac - if I got an Apple loan, but I've played with lots of those already.
What I'd really like (and could probably stretch to) is an iMac G5. However, I'm not sure if I should wait a little while before buying one - i.e. for Rev B to come out (whenever that would be)... because in my experience Apple seem to fix and potential shortfalls with a computer quite quickly, and so Rev A is not always the best to go for - take the 12" PB for example, the first version had a really slow FSB (i think) whereas my one has a faster processor and MUCH fast FSB, which makes all the difference....
So what do you guys think? Anyone in the UK used their loan service before? Is it worth it - is it good value or should I go somewhere else and stop being lazy!!

If your resume and cover letter go to Apple Corporate in Cupertino CA and the formatted version of your resume goes to a recruiter (who invites you to the recruiting seminar), would it be possible for Apple Corporate to screen your resume and cover letter before the recruiter? Then (theoretically) the application would go to a store Hiring Manager who will then call you in for an interview.

This to me sounds like a battery problem. How old or new is the iPod? I have an iPod Classic 160 from 2006 and works and syncs fine but my older classics are starting to act up and are becoming really, really slow probably most likely from the software updates etc. That's my guess.
It is only about 2 years old. So unfortunately it isn't covered under warranty any more.
Looks more like an hard drive failure, does it make weird clicks?
Yes it does make some weird sounds, the hard drive is actually very noisy when it runs.

If you notice, most phones say "maximum working altitude 10,000ft"
It won't work up there. ;)
Environmental requirements
Operating temperature: 32 to 95 F
(0 to 35 C)
Nonoperating temperature: -4 to 113 F
(-20 to 45 C)
Relative humidity: 5% to 95% noncondensing
Maximum operating altitude: 10,000 feet (3000 m)

Greetings,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I just ordered an 11.6" Air and was looking for a case I saw a few days ago and cannot find now.
The case looks like a black and red notebook (http://www.my-oxford.co.uk/professional-and-executive/black-n-red), fake paper and spine included, that holds the Air.
I've spent tons of time retracing my steps, but can't find the darn thing.
Any help would be appreciated.

i know i am going out really far on this one...but my friend says she has a friend that works at the local apple store who hooked her up when she bought her 15" powerbook a few months ago. she couldn't give me any specifics, but i want to see her reciept to see what kind of discount she got. however, i probably won't get to see it for a few more days.
i am wondering if anyone knows anything about the apple employee discounts? from my research, any apple employee can receive 1 25% discount, and 3 15% discounts during a 1 year time period.
my big question is...can these be combined with education discounts?
thx!

You're probably looking at $850 - $900 around here; you could get $1050 or more on ebay.

Why use vintage Mac computers?
I guess that should be a FAQ. :D There's been plenty of discussion in various threads about it:

I like mine because they're all curious period pieces. They are a snapshot in time of the state of the art of user experience. (And, you can't read an 800k diskette without one.)

Great tip, but this tag has been around for a long long while. Not really anything new for experienced HTMLers...

You could try restoring to factory default. Make sure your iPhone is recently backed up. I've been trying to duplicate the issue to no avail.

What about the UPC codes, would I need them if I wanted to bring the computer into an Apple Store or something?
They just need the serial number on the back of your laptop
You can find the serial number on the back or in the system profile

I have one of these in my 2009 Air, and it honestly turned my Air into a whole different computer. The difference between it with the SSD and the old HDD is night and day.
Same here! Go with OWC and your old MBA becomes a totally new and significantly snappier machine that has a backlight keyboard.

How long have you had the computer, and how long has it been acting this way? Did it start after you changed any Hardware or Software on it?

Anyone have any luck getting the $18.00 fee waived when they upgraded their iPhone? If so what tactic did you use....Just ask, tell them they did it for a friend etc....
Why not just pay the $18.00 and get it over with? Honestly, $18.00 isn't bad at all. It's really nothing.

Wowsers!! And with all this SP2 and Longhorn news, you'd think that MS would be winning....
I guess that it goes to show that if you have a great and easy to use site, you'll get lots of people coming to hang out!

Oh god does he ever.... If I so much as toss an empty pop tart box on the floor he will try and stuff himself in it. As for vid..dont have one with him and the iMac box. My buddy was over with his so I could give him some lessons on being a new Mac owner. However I guess I could dig out the one in my closet and see what I can set up.

I still have an iPod 1G that syncs with a MacBook running iTunes 10.1. No problems at all here. Can't imagine a minor revision like iTunes 10.1.2 would make any difference.

the education "version" is the full retail version. no need to be snappy.
Wrong Zach. Apple's educational versions of their Pro software have "no-commerical use allowed" EULAs.
This is now sold, no thanks to the thread-crappers and FUD-spreaders.
Thanks to all others who contribute positively :)

Congrats on the new purchase, I too will soon own a powerbook 15". I have used 3 different Linksys wireless routers and have been satisfied with all of them but the last one. The router is not working even though the wireless access is. If you are going to keep a PC handy then you shouldn't have any problems since you can only update firmware on the Linksys through a PC.
