I think I like the brushed metal look much better. :(
My opinion of brushed metal is that it's a very good theme and has big a cool factor, but the clean lines and clarity of the new theme has already won me over. It's not perfect, there are things I'd change, but I think it's a nice step up.
In fact, it reminds me of a super evolved version of OS 9's platinum look, which I really liked.
For those too young in Mac world to remember OS 9's platinum theme, you can see some here in the paragraph titled "Platinum vs. Aqua Interface Pictures" but bear in mind that this interface is VERY old at this point, so you to have think of it in context and not compare it to an interface from 2006.

But why are OS X's UI designers so averse to putting in a line that demarks where the title bar stops and the window body begins?

Someone will make a case. Do you think these established companies want some newjack to come in and steal their entire market? Once you buy a case and like it, you typically stay with that company for your next one. Businesses would rather make money instead of making points.
There is not a huge market for the white iPhone and there may not be that much money to be made. Yes, a smaller case manufacturer may come out with something, but not somebody like Speck or Incase. Considering the delay of the white iphone and the iPhone 5 that many are waiting for, how many of these things are going to be sold? I just don't think a large case maker is going to find it economical to make a new case (if necessary), with the iPhone 5 potentially coming in the summer.

Two companies I really don't care for.
Apple makes some sweet hardware (hence I visit this site) but they seriously lack in the software programming and ethical department.
Samsung makes some crappy TVs (I really don't know why they have such a good reputation for TVs, I've got two of them and they look like crap in comparison to my $400 Emerson), not to mention crappy cell phones that are guaranteed to break in a year. (I've gone through three, 1st the slider started to stick, 2nd one the speaker on it broke, and the 3rd one it would double entry the 6 key when I tried to text).
Good for samsung though for trying to strike back for that ridiculous suit Apple did about the Galaxy.

1. Professional conferences cost that much.
2. Apple sends 1000 of their engineers that you can talk with. Who is Google sending? How accessible are they?
3. WWDC is more days.
Number 2 above is one of the reasons that it would be difficult to move to a larger venue. It might accommodate more people, but the real value is getting to talk with Apple engineers and ask questions. If they made the venue larger, your chances of getting to talk with them becomes slim. It's a tough problem to solve.
It is Apple. Number 2 is not the reason. Chances are moving it to another venue would cost more money which means less profit.
Google is more than likely just trying to cover cost. Apple is going to try to make a profit.

I think "cali" is acceptable.
It is if you're LL Cool J or you're from New York in the '80's and clueless.
Otherwise, No.
No one calls Florida, "Flo" or Illinois "Illy"

This news will hopefully inspire Apple to make the next generation iPods even more amazing. However, I don't see MS as the biggest threat to the iPod. I am much more concerned about mp3 cellphones with 4Gb flash (see e.g. SonyEricsson).
Apple needs come up with a revolutionary device that integrates an iPod with a cellphone and possibly even a GPS, in order to keep their mp3 marketshare.
And when MRAM comes to the market - I hope Apple gets that first, it'll mean a HUGE advantage for whomever.

Problem is the App Store. I don't think Apple thought about this in regards to the Mac App store having larger programs. Sure the iOS App store is easy....most apps are small.

"A colleague of mine just picked up a 16 GB iPhone 4 in white. I was a bit surprised when I picked it up off his desk (I had my black 32 GB in my other hand at the same time) – it immediately felt thicker."
LOL, that's absolutely ridiculous.
Also, why is everyone feeling so sorry for the case makers...like Apple is screwing them over? It's not their responsibility to cater to the case makers.
I completely agree. No one can pick something up and "immediately" tell that it's 0.25 mm thicker than another object. I call BS.
AGREED!

If this is true, I'll be highly disappointed. I wonder how long till case makers respond or if they will even bother?
I'll take photos as soon as my verizon shipment comes in. (Most likely by Monday).

Just ruined my freakin day. I was really hoping it would be an added benefit instead of a paid feature.
Well that definitely counts me out as a potential user. (Yes i'm cheap)
Entitlement? No offense as many feel the same way. I just don't understand how some can realistically expect such a product/service to be free for how new it is.

The more "interesting" restriction I saw (and mentioned in the other thread) was the "don't use DRM in a VM" restriction even with business or ultimate.
B
Of course not, the DRM would then be transferrable. Which given the lack of DRM license backups, I think that is what most people will do.

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/1205/golffox.jpg
Played terrible but did see a red fox out on the course. :D
Took the photo with my iPhone 4 for a ways away (Probably 50 yards) used the HDR setting, came out a lot better than the non HDR photo.
Very cool, I've worked at this course (http://www.tavistockcc.org/) the past two years and it was always a joy seeing wild life.

I have an external Mac display cerca 2008 with a the apple display port that I hook to my Macbook. When I got a revamped mac book I had to buy a mini display adapter to use it.
I want to get a the new iMac, and want to use my external display still. But I haven't been able to find info on Mini/Display port to Tunderbolt.
I know half the charm of these thunderbolts is running HD video from an external drive and separate monitors. But I haven't found what I'm looking for.
Thoughts?
