I can definitely tell the difference between the two cameras, and I'm no video editor. It doesn't take away from the spirit of the video, though!

Hi,
I'm just trying to get some half decent prints with some photos I've taken on my 400d, desaturated and edited in Aperture, exported 8bit tiff files, then placed in a layout in inDesign cs5. Then exported to pdf to print from in my uni print room.
But when I print them the parts of the images which are meant to be the darkest are green, the rest of the image is decent.
I've tried using loads of settings when printing but cant find anything thats resolved it and its using up so much money and card!
The printer is a HP laser printer, pretty new I believe.
I've tried printing in grey scale and obviously it only uses the black cartridge and comes out relatively washed out.
Does anyone know much about this issue or how I can get round it?
I also tried opening the pdf in photoshop (rasterising it) and then printing but it gave the same results.
Luke.

The dvd does not lose quality with my ripping program (RipIt). It loses quality once I convert it using handbrake
That is to be expected. Maybe use one of the Apple TV presets or play around with the "RF" setting: https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/CRFGuide

Even if you're on the 200MB plan, that would be a *massive* amount of data for a text-based chat client to use.
If you look at your detailed bill, you should be able to see when data is being used. If you've been heavily using your iPhone since the net went down, that's where I think the extra usage would be coming from.

I did it on both my iPhone and iPad screen protectors. Helped them go on nicely. No bubbles on iPhone, but the iPad one had a couple. fixed them right up with the scotch tape trick.

Wow, this is really taking off!
There has to be more than just those songs for only one rec' though, right? Have you considered a separate page to list them all and just have 10 or so there in the sidebar?

I was kind of dancing around this in my other post, but it is now (finally) dawning on me that I don't fully understand the process for backing up.
I'll be shooting on a Canon XF100. The codec is MPEG-2 Long GOP as MXF.
After shooting, back at the hotel, my plan is to import the footage I shot that day to a MBP. I believe I'll be able to import and view the footage via the XF utility software that accompanied the camera.
Is in then as simple as exporting the files in their native format to an external drive? Then worry about transcoding to something more FCE/FCP friendly later? Or, would I need to do something else to them at the time of transfer.
I think I'm essentially looking for the MBP to act as a temporary bridge between the camera and offloading to the drive.
Sorry if this is a total noob question and I will be conducting some tests before I leave, just want to make sure I'm on the right path.
Thanks.

The lights in the room and the TV have different color temperatures (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature#TV.2C_video.2C_and_digital_still_cameras). Tungsten lights, which are typical indoor lights, have a color temp of about 3200K. The TV is probably operating around 6500k if not higher.
The only way to fix this is to get everything working at the same color temp (or at least close enough). Many TVs allow you to adjust the color temp in the menu but I don't know if you'll be able to adjust it enough to fix the problem. Another solution is the replace the light bulbs in the room w/ones of a higher color temp or buy some CTB (Color Temperature Blue) 'gels' to place over the lights. The gels are basically thin, colored sheets of plastic. The final solution is to place a CTO (Color Temperature Orange) gel over the screen of the TV but it could be tricky to do that and keep it from being obvious that there is a sheet of plastic covering the TV screen.
If you've already shot the footage and you have no way to shoot it again and having the TV screen being too blue is unacceptable you can try and fix it a program like Final Cut or After Effects but the process can range from maddening (the camera isn't on a tripod and the speaker keeps waving their hands in front of the TV screen) to dead simple (the camera is on a tripod and never movies and the speaker never gets close to the TV screen).

What model is your MacBook? Perhaps you want to stick with 10.5 Leopard which works wonderfully even on an 1.6 GHz Atom with 1 GB Ram. Snow Leopard needs at least 2 GB and sometimes is slower than Leopard on older Macs, that was my experience at least.
Now the point is: Upgrade price. I mean, you can easily find a Snow Leopard upgrade disc for $ 29 which works even with Tiger. Instead going Leopard would be more difficult and expensive and personally I would not get too excited about using SL with 1 GB Ram. I have used Tiger on a PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz with 512 MB Ram from over 6 years ago (perhaps 7) and it did not skip a beat.
I hope you take the right decision.

File sharing over Ethernet should work.
Other options would be to use a PC Card (Cardbus) USB or FireWire adapter and an intermediate external HD to transfer the files.
Edit: just thought of another option: remove the HD and use an external IDE to USB case (or cable adapter, IDE to USB). Then you can just use it as you would any other external USB drive.

Correct. Just speculation but it appears obvious.
AirPlay and AirPrint are iOS features. AirDrop follows the same nomenclature, it's a pretty good guess that iOS 5 will use AirDrop to drop files into Mac's and other iOS devices.

..and that is exactly what I did.
1. Move Ethernet on top in the ordered list
2. Uncheck the "Send all.."
3. Create an /etc/ppp/ip-up file
4. Add a route for the IP range used by Hulu
5. Save the file and make it executable
6. Pop some popcorn and enjoy the shows. :-)
Can't really see situation where traffic to these sites should not go via VPN, so the solution is fine for me.
The challenge now is to identify all IP ranges used by Netflix, but that should be doable.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks!
I found out if I changed the width of the divs it would look correct in IE, but in nothing else, and I do know how to make separate stylesheet files for different browser, but I investigated further.
The way I fixed it was under a different tutorial on that site. (http://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer/floatIndent.html) Basically there's a bug in IE that makes divs with "float:left;" double there margin value. There is a simple workaround, however. Just add "'display:inline;" in the css under the div with the float in it. Seems to have worked for me.
If anything sees anything blatantly wrong with my site, or can think of a better way to do anything, let me know.
