Hi folks,
I have an app that need a fairly complicate key array/nsdictionary list that it uses to calculate other information. The data isn't large and it needs to be accessible from several classes.
I've been reading around and people have used several methods, a singleton class , EXTERN variables, and property list.
I think apple recommends using plist?
And I would write code to populate the plist with the array. Where do I put this code, in the application didFinishedLaunching? So the xml/plist gets written or rewritten every time the application is launched?
thanks.

Thanks for the reply robbieduncan. So I guess it's not allowed...
Well section 2.15 prevents you installing to any shared location. So that prevent you installing the .prefs bundle.

Oakridge mall is opening an hour early at 6am! the rest are at 7. They just told me when i was over at the store
You sure they are opening early, I though all the stores had to open at the same time? I might drop by Oakridge around 6:45 and see how big the line is.

You can use JW Player (http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/) with YouTube videos (http://www.longtailvideo.com/players/jw-player-now/) and make a custom skin.

I was thinking about getting the iPad 2 next week. It will have 4.3 installed on it. Now when updates come out and I update my iPad to a new version, when I connect my iPhone to sync will it automatically install new software to my iPhone, breaking my jailbreak. Whenever I sync now I tell my computer mot to install any updates, but with an iPad that I want updated, will it mess with my phone, or do they keep the updates separate? Thanks for the help.

I'm guessing you are interested in Photoshop skills/tutorials:
www.good-tutorials.com is a large database of tutorials.
It has tutorials on other programs as well, it used to be a Photoshop only tutorial website, but now has expanded to a wide array of great programs that are essential for graphic designers.

The Mini has 8gb RAM from OWC but I was under the impression that Mac OS easily used all of the 8gb in 32 bit mode and you would have to have somewhere around 32gb for it to benefit you to run in 6 bit mode.

I second Cougarcat's suggestion. I have an external WD 1TB drive on which I created two partitions, one of which was for installing Lion. It runs pretty well, considering that it's on a USB-connected drive. I'm not sure of the bugginess that Cougarcat is experiencing. I've had a couple strange experiences with Safari, but I chalk that up to this being only the first developer preview. Once I get a new MacBook Pro, I may just reformat the drive to have two partitions and see how well Lion runs on the internal HDD (that's assuming, of course, that the wife allows me to purchase the new MBP before Lion is released :D).
Personally, I really like Lion, with the exception of the Mt. Fuji picture - for me, it's just the wrong color, as the sky should be blue vice purple. To that end, I created a series of new wallpapers for my own enjoyment. One thing that is very nice with Lion is the ability to have different wallpapers for each space. For the moment, we are precluded from renaming the spaces, but at least we can have a different wallpaper to differentiate them, at least.

This to me sounds like a battery problem. How old or new is the iPod? I have an iPod Classic 160 from 2006 and works and syncs fine but my older classics are starting to act up and are becoming really, really slow probably most likely from the software updates etc. That's my guess.
It is only about 2 years old. So unfortunately it isn't covered under warranty any more.
Looks more like an hard drive failure, does it make weird clicks?
Yes it does make some weird sounds, the hard drive is actually very noisy when it runs.

Thankyou so much for the link, we will be trying that tonight! Just out of curiosity, do you have any ideas as to why this sort of thing happens or if there is anyway to avoid such things in future?

From my Snow Leopard partition, I started up the OS X Lion image to install (I was hoping to do a simple upgrade on my main partition- stupid, I know). The computer restarted and the Lion Installer began and prompted me to choose a HD to install to, but my Macintosh HD did not show up.
So, now I am unable to boot into my original Snow Leopard OS. The only options I have are "OS X Installer" and "Windows HD" when holding down the option immediately after starting my iMac. It seems as if OS X Installer has replaced my original "Macintosh HD." My files are still accessible by booting into Windows.
Is there anyway I can unmount the OS X Installer and boot into my original Snow Leopard partition? I've tried inserting the Install disc that came with the computer (Leopard), but it does not recognize Macintosh HD, so I can't install it.
Any solutions or thoughts?

I've got an 8GB iPhone that I purchased on June 29th, 2007 at 6pm :) Item is in nearly perfect shape, there is a small scuff roughly half the size of a grain of rice (honestly) on the back side (see pictures for scuff below). Other than that, shows just a small amount of wear. I'm looking to get $300 for it and am able to ship internationally if need be. The phone will be unlocked and Jailbroken on the newest firmware (1.1.4) when shipped. If you wouldn't like this, just tell me and I'll send it in a "virgin" state. iPhone is a 3.9 Bootloader (the original and has shown to be easier to hack in the past).
Forgot to mention that it includes everything in the original box, most of it not being used too much.

It's a shame that you didn't enter it, I would have voted for it more than likely.

Use a privacy screen protector if you really need one, because they lower the image quality like if you stacked 3 matte shields on the screen.
