I have a cheap Bytecc external case. (Oxford 911 chipset) It has both firewire and usb2. I put a harddrive in one and a Lite-On DVD burner in the other.
Both work great for windows and mac.

It is very unlike Apple to have any non-Apple logos on their devices. When they started using Intel chips, they never had an "Intel Inside" sticker. They also never had an AT&T logo on their iPhones and do not have Verizon logo on their newer iPhones.
Thankful for that! I just find the plastering of stickers and logos, typical of PC and linux boxes, very distasteful.
I agree!!

I can't believe I did this......showed up at 2:30am and waited with folks already there since 12. First guy was there at 12, and ended up not being able to get one for whatever reason. I was fourth in line tho, and walked out of the store with the first one. Our Att had a similar amount in stock. I'm glad I waited tho. LOL.

"Fake" DDR or the real thing? Apple's current DDR implementation would hardly make a difference. But I suppose Apple is bound to do it sooner or later, from a pure marketing standpoint. I don't see the G3 iBooks getting DDR though.
I've been drooling for an iBook for awhile now, but I can live without it, so I'll give it a year and see where it is then. I sure hope they don't eliminate the 12" iBook, I happen to think a smaller laptop is better!

For the record, I submitted the story with a different headline, and even previewed it :) Maybe MacBytes meant to replace the MDN link with the InternetRetailer link that MDN references. They must have accidentally pasted the URL over the title instead of over the old URL.
Anyway, my headline was something like:
"Apple.com is now the computer company site with most AND longest visits; tops Dell by 50%"
I seem to recall Apple.com being on top in NUMBER of visits for a while, but someone else (HP?) had visitors stay the longest and browse. Now Apple is on top in both respects--surely a measure of increased interest in the platform.
Not bad to have a high average stay-length, with all the people checking the home page for 1 second during the iTunes million promo :D
(Oh--and the MDN wide problem is only because someone posted a huge wide link in the comments below the article: Apple vs. Dell and MS on NASDAQ (http://quotes.nasdaq.com/quote.dll?mode=basics&kind=&timeframe=1y&intraday=&charttype=ohlc&splits=&earnings=&comparison=on&index=&symbol=DELL&symbol=MSFT&symbol=AAPL&FormType=&mkttype=&pathname=&page=charting&selected=AAPL).)

PCI-X is simply just double clocked standard PCI. The FirmTek "PCI-X" cards simply mean support for that extra bandwidth feature but they are still fully compatible in a G4 tower.
FirmTek bungled it a bit by just flat out calling it PCI-X. It should be listed as PCI-X support. Just look at any of their non-PCI express cards. All support both G5 and G4 towers.
I have one of these very cards (FirmTek 1S2) in my G4 and it is listed as PCI-X but also lists support for G4's in the requirements.
To the original poster..
I strongly recommend the 1V4 (http://www.firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-1v4/) from FirmTek as it allows 4 drives so you can use all 4 drive bays in the MDD's. If you only ever want up to 2 drives or need to spend less you can get the 2 channel 1S2 (http://www.firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-1s2/) I have.

Many thanks for those links :)
Loads of fab apple logo wallpapers there. While I didn't find the actual one I'm looking for, I did pick up some others as I searched. I also found a black wood background & then google'd for a blue apple logo & have created one very similar to the one I want, in PS.
