I had one of the 1000 I'm sure VPs of Verizon check into my hotel a few weeks before the iPhone launch. I asked him what he thought and he said the iPhone is amazing I wish we could have gotten it. He said watch though it will bring down AT&Ts network. He went on to talk about how their network is crap.......I still can't make, receive, send or get text messages or mail during any sporting event in my city. It was the same when it first came out and it is the same last week at the game. We'll see this week but I'm not holding my breath after this many years.

yep they would have and my opinion on the matter would be exactly the same.
I do hope Obama and the Dems do the right thing and not try to use it as political capital. Hopefully the fear of it will keep the GOP from trying to use it.

If you want to play numbers, the iPhone on Verizon (same carrier as thunderbolt) sold 2.2 million in two months, compared to a quarter million in one month for tbolt. Saying that equals 3million annually 1) makes it compete better with the iPhone over two months on a single carrier and 2) assumes that the numbers remain constant. Being that people are figuring out that the battery life is dreadful (and you forget that the majority of the market doesn't want to swap batteries like it's 1999) and that android phones have a short cycle of being the hottest new thing, I don't think there's a basis to assume consistent sales in line with their opening month. Numbers can say anything when there's no common sense behind it.
I mentioned these numbers to prove totally different point namely that there are plenty of people who want LTE. Also, HTC probably has ten or so smartphone models. If all of them were as successful as Thunderbolt HTC would already be ahead of Apple :D

BS and unacceptable. That being said, I'm doing fine in the metro-west area of Boston/Worcester. Very rare to have a dropped call. I think this is just a case of a single carrier being unable to handle the volume of iPhone users. It's time to open it up to multiple carriers to spread the love and the cell tower load.

YES! I would love a iPhone on Sprint's everything plan. I know several people with Sprint smart phones and the service they provide is great for only $70! Choice is a good thing for the customer and if the iPhone 5 does have a global chipset, then wider availability would be the best way to go.

I just hope the rumors of possibly a bigger screen come true because going from a 4.3in screen to a 3.5in screen would be kind of hard is the only thing. 3.7-4in would be nice but I digress.

Nice idea and interesting. best bet would be a collaboration with Panasonic. After all since Pioneer stopped production of the best flast screen TVs ever and Panasonic employing those engineers who got laid of from Pioneer, their new 2011 panels are simply the best platform for it. if they put it into a Samsung or alike then no thanks. panny s are reasonably priced.
I could see something like that where Apple TV and games are integrated into a high-end set. Would love for someone to own this space and clean up all of these damn black boxes. Of course, they may have to cave in use Blu-Ray somehow.

According to this Zune site, MS won't be giving away free music. They might try to convert ACC to WMA but I doubt that'd be legal for their own software (but I am sure 3rd party software already does this). I don't see everyone dumping their iPod for something they'd have to re-buy all their music for.

How many wifi models did they have? Particularly 32GB. My friend got out of line, wondering if he would have gotten one.
IIRC, the manager said that they only had 16GB WiFi. But I had already tuned out at that point since I was there for AT&T, so I may have misheard.
