The cinema display's didn't change, all that changed was the price. So there isn't any "previous generation model" from what I understand.
Did you miss the part about brighter and greater contrast ratio?

I agree. I don't think it was appropriate for him to be performing at a keynote. Just not the right audience.

^^ That's true. There doesn't have to be a set time when Apple releases things. Leopard could be out tomorrow. You never know.

I did when I made my post, it doesn't change the situation much, if at all. What they did was what they did, and the majority of this discussion was after last year's MWSF, in which case the upcoming MW of which the OP discussed the point of if they should be banned hasn't even happened yet. So this discussion is still very active and relevant.

I have to say, when I first heard about the iPhone I let my Verizon account go, because I knew I wanted to get the iPhone. Well AT&T sucks up in my part of the woods. We have terrible coverage. My girlfriend uses Verizon - let's just say, I can't wait for Verizon to start offering the iPhone.

Actually its the other way around. Windows 7 has leap frogged apple in terms of functionality, UI and usability.
Apple needs to play catch up by adding some features to OSX.:o
Working with both Windows and Mac OS X every day for the last two decades you have no idea how utterly wrong this statement is.

Google, Microsoft and Bush are Devils!
For the most part they all work together. Apple Google and Microsoft are all the devils they all work together to form a greater overarching monopoly. It all cost so much because they want it so.

So..What great App you all feel is going to be excluded by this change? I did not see anything from last years winners that could not be in the app store if the developer wanted.

I actually think the numbers will be smaller because even if people say they will leave now, when it comes time to actually do it....only a portion will actually follow through.
A couple of the issues were caused by some things Apple did incorrectly in the GSM radio. It'll be interesting to see if they do well w/ the CDMA portion.

Mighty Mouse has shipped. Woohoo! Told me it would be 2 weeks!
I noticed that given my two order numbers are about 20000 apart and the orders are 4 hours apart, they were doing 5000 sales an hour from apple.ca yesterday?
Anyone know if that is alot?

This is too funny. I can see this counter thing is going to be fun to watch. I have seen the counters go from 2 to -3 to 1 to 0 to -1 with in minutes.

Lyra ranted something about: Greedy perverted laws... greedy idea of harming international companies and getting some money out of them, in this certain case, it happens to be Apple...
Do you even know what this case is about? None of the complaints are about getting money from Apple or any other company. All the complaints are about protecting the consumers' rights and making sure that companies don't take advantage of consumers by including obscure terms that can come back and render the purchase the consumer made worthless to him/her some time down the road.

The Stores seem to be listing MacBook delivery times as 5-7 working days. Is that normal or has it been increased? If it's an increase might that suggest a speedbump or something? There's not been much rumour activity around that though.

Portenzo case finally came in as did my beats that I got for $80. Also got an element/atomic copy cat case from DX and a bumper from there as well. Lastly, ordered a new stylus for the laptop. It sucks, but I'm getting a free one because the one they sent was not working. It's a good pen/laser pointer/LED torch though, but that's not why I bought it. Oh I also get some some padded twisty ties, batteries, and air canisters for office upkeep. Funny thing is I'm almost as excited about the padded cable ties as I am with the other purchases :D

Ahhhh.... dude... the only Apps that don't really get approved are ones that do things that can cause security risks or just plain trying to steal your information.
Yeah, I know... there are also Apps that break the rules and get axed, but for the most part, my first point is true. Any legitimate application can get approved.
If you keep up with Android apps, security is one of the their problems. Open? Yes... risky? Yes.
Didn't that lady's iAd gallery app get rejected?
also, the Google Voice had problems getting out. And different browsers didn't appear for a long while I thought.

All you have shown is a deep-seated fear of advertising. And it's been stated that Apple doesn't actually collect this data, so it isn't even being used for iAds.
How exactly, specifically, will this cell phone tower tracking info compromise your personal safety? What exactly is there to fear? There must be something more than targeted advertising, which is at best an annoyance you have to live with anyway.
Some people just don't like to be tracked. If the data fell into to hands of an untoward person, then there might be an issue.

The TV Shows section started out with 5 shows (zero here) and now look at it, there are hundreds of TV Shows for download on iTunes (zero here).
It just takes a few to get it going and once some momentum is established it just keeps picking up speed.

would anyone care to explain why the uk price for a 30" cinema display is 1549 whereas in the US it is $1999 (around 1054.71) even with VAT included this still only comes to 1,239.28 - so why the huge margin...I guess it's not called rip-off Britain for nothing eh...

Hey I just got a 24" myself.
EDIT: Also had to pick up a Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Why not get a mini displayport straight to DVI cable? I never understood the use of an adapter. Maybe someone can shed some light?
