should have realized that it was over at 9pm PST, but I did start trying to put my order in at 8:45pm PST. Tried to used my $50 credit from ipod settlement but the promo code field was already filled out so I didn't have anywhere to put it. talked to a rep (just after it passed 9pm PST) by which time the discounts were all gone anyways :( The rep told me, no discount codes can be used today - kind of lame.

Doesn't anyone remember that this used to be the case? Right in the beginning, there was a live video feed to all the Apple stores... I went to two of them, both at the Mall of America store (and both times sat next to some very quirky Mac users... y'know... the regular type). Then one year, I went and it wasn't on. I was pissed. Then I learned Apple wasn't doing that because it was too expensive or something.
Seeing the floor traffic of those places, I don't see how it couldn't be lucrative to get passers-by excited about fresh products...

Thanks I have it all configured now, I have been doing a3 units all along. Can't wait to complete my 10 units. Hopefully this should boost the ppd from my i7 as it currently is doing 850-900ppd.

Why is there always someone doing this? Does nobody go by the old netiquette rule of lurking on a site for a while to get a feel for things before posting?
I assume you haven't taken the time to fully absorb what this site is about. It goes beyond just Mac rumors. Go back through the archives of the site and you'll see. MR has always posted significant updates about direct competitors to Apple products as well as news concerning the tech industry that could impact Macs and iOS users. It's nothing new.

Seems to be a strong update, unlike SL. SL was more a plumbing change for many things (IMO) and Lion will be making strong use of those changes. For that reason, that's why I believe it'll cost around 100 bucks.
I actually think Apple is going to surprise us with the price. Like they did with Final Cut Pro X.
Who knows? Maybe it'll be 29$ upgrade from SL.

I think we'll get a software update of the iLife and iWork suites, a closer look at Leopard and it's new features, and an update to Frontrow for use with iTV. Am I the only one who thought the iTV interface looked less than polished?
Hardware:
No video iPod, but the iPhone will debut. This will be the BIG announcement. I don't think they would release a new iPod at the same time as the phone, so my money is on an iPhone.
I expext the quad core Mac Pros too. --prays-- A mid tower or mid priced configuration of the Mac Pro. By mid I mean around $1400 - $1600.
That's it! Try to keep some perspective. Everytime one of these keynotes is given the rumor mill predicts everything and the kitchen sink, but only a small number of annoucemnets are actually made. i am going to get an iphone and i think Jobs has done a great job of apple. I believe that the iPhone is going to be a great hit and as someone said will once again steal some (or most) of the market for phones. Apple have used their brains once more and will be a success. All they need to do now is get some game designers and design a PSP like game machine. IF apple can make this game machine and make the computers sync and stuff like that apple will have it in the bag!

In iTunes you can see a banner ad that says "Apps from iPad TV ads." That will take you to a page where you will see the apps.

That again? You do realize that 9/11 had very little to do with airport security but everything to do with incompetence on the side of the secret service and negligence on the side of the US government? TSA has not made airtravel any safer than prior to 9/11.

It is simply another security layer and that in itself will deter some from giving it a try. First, Apple must build an iPhone that will work on Verizon's CDMA network (iPhone is GSM & HPDA), OR Verizon must upgrade their network to handle GSM/HDMA. I don't thing either will ever happen.

I spend at least 98% of my time in AT&T 3G coverage areas. While Verizon's coverage map may look impressive with their sea of red, they seem to be forgetting that dirt can't use 3G.

Agreed. I'm not sure what the motivation in having such highly-stylized, and ill-fitting UI's are, but they're eyesores, and very difficult to use. I've switched off, and reverted to the "classic" views wherever possible in Lion.
I noticed most of the criticism stems from the changes in iCal and Address Book which are both disgusting. Sadly they havent changed yet
