And I was wondering if anyone else has one going and what sort of results they're getting.
I already have two other machines going (although right now, just one since I'm rendering on the other) and I'm curious to see how the dual 1.25 GHz G4 compares to my wife's new iMac...

Hey everyone,
Getting very excited about launch day tomorrow! Anyone planning on lining up at the Apple Store in Boca Raton Town Center Mall. If so, can you please post with your time of planned arrival?

I thought that might be the reason - I have changed my passwords.
Could it be from being on a wifi accound that is not password protected?

My TV is advertised as 1080p and only does 1320x768. As long as it's above 720p they can claim 1080p. It seems that your actual question is whether it's the TV or your computer/connection. It's your TV, the resolution you're getting is its maximum resolution. The maximum resolution HDMI can do is generally 1080p (1920x1080).
This is technically not true, since HDMI can do pretty much any resolution DVI can do, but since it's a multimedia interface 1080p is likely the highest resolution a display you can connect via HDMI will give you (for now, at least).

How would I do it? form the hard drive, I am a complete novice at this stuff!
sorry, not the hard drive model, the Mac mini. all I know is that I would put the leopard 10.5 on the ext hard drive then.....

Reinstall the OS.
If you do an "Archive and Install" type of installation, it'll be very easy and will keep all the bookmarks, personal info, photos, music, documents, and everything else in your home folder intact.
Sweet, eh?

Open up app store on your iPad, go into Featured, the scroll all the way down, click account and logh out.
Edit:
This has nothing to do with jailbreaking. It has to do with you and your friend connecting your iDevices to each others computers, and actually syncing or something. This may also happen if you activate the iDevice with someone elss computer and other things.

OK, time to ask again.
Is there any good NAS accepting internal journaled HFS+ SATA disks by now?
It should also have a port for direct attachment for disk repair. No funny RAID stuff that can't be handled by DiskWarrior.
Preferably one that can be bought without disks.
Apple does not qualify.
Thanks

Name-calling is a form of ad hominem attack that draws a vague equivalence between a concept and a person, group or idea. By linking the person or idea being attacked to a negative symbol, the propagandist hopes that the audience will reject the person or the idea on the basis of the symbol, instead of looking at the available evidence.

yeah esp for a machine that will be used pretty sparingly anyway from what i gather from their needs.
has 6GB of memory, 160GB HDD, i have OSX Leopard to give them looks like a 2Ghz i believe, Dual-processor
havent heard back but i think maybe 190 to 200 would be fair
yeah, that is nice that it has all the memory. Good luck grabbing it man. Hope you get a good deal.

alust2013, I appreciate the response, but don't know if I can trust a Buckeye (went to the better school in Ann Arbor ;-)
I guess my main question boils down to impact of hypertheading and SSD. If you're saying hyperthreading is that big of an advantage (I have to believe the GeekBench numbers are inflated to give a lot of weight to hyperthreading), then my other concern is SSD.
I lean towards the MBP due to the ability to easily have a SSD + HDD, but I don't know how much either will benefit me (the 256GB SSD option for the iMac is just WAY TOO expensive for me to consider). I've heard people rave about a fast SSD for scratch drive on photo and video editing. Is this overblown?

MBP - Channel 9 (2.4)
PHY 802.11 N
Transmit Rate 39
Mini - Channel 9 92.4)
PHY 802.11 N
Transmit Rate 65
The transmit rate is normally shown in Megabits/second (Mb/s), thus the slowest common transfer rate between the two machines is 39 Mb/s, in your case it would be roughly 5 MB/s (in theory), but the 1MB/s sounds about right in your case.
It may be due to a weak signal and a lot of interference (walls, other thick objects like tables and cupboards).

I'm not sure if you meet the minimum specs for Fallout 1 and 2, but if you do, those should definitely be on your list! They absolutely fly on my iMac 600mhz with 1gb of RAM... if you maxed out your RAM, you should be okay.

What the hell. Are the GOP just trying to shove as much crap threw that they can knowing they are going to really suffer in 2012. I hope 2012 is the year of the 3rd parties.
This stuff is insane. Look like after wiscons mess they figured out they can get away with a lot.
Also clearly dumb **** is not tied to the South and states like Texas but to GOP and more importantly GOP tea partiers.
GOP get your house in order before the Tea party completely destroys it.

Ok, I have found the answer to this one now, so here it is as no one seems to know it for Leopard.
First disable firewall or allow all incoming connections.
Network pane - advanced - TCP/IP
change DHCP to bootp and apply it all.
Connection will be lost. go back in, change it back to DHCP (no IP address will be assigned at this point. Apply.
Voila
Don't forget to put your firewall back to what it was.
I hope this will be useful for someone.
regards
Jonny
