Sorry to disappoint you, but "wake with trackpad" will not be possible in Lion anymore (at least, it's not meant to be). Why? Simply because the new iTunes screen saver's functions require trackpad interaction.
So no, it's not a bug.
He said wake from sleep. When a computer sleeps there is no screen saver, and indeed my lion install wakes from sleep when I press the trackpad, so if his does not that suggests a bug on his or my end at the vary least.

Thanks Orange,
You are a very very helpful macrumors forum member! I just wanted to tell you that.
So would this be a definite deal I should jump on?

Now that you have a mouse that is a keyboard, if you boot into windows the mouse button is the "any" key.
(sorry, couldn't resist)
Since you have an 11 in MBA, you can probably ask Apple about this even if you didn't purchase AppleCare. I understand people going to forums to avoid calling companies like Microsoft, Dell and HP, but calling Apple is nothing like the root canal you get when you call those other companies about a pee cee.

Are you dragging the app icon to your Applications folder before you double-click them? Or are they install packages that you need to launch, in order to install the app? Can you give an example of an app you're trying to install?

Has anyone had this happen? I am trying to do app updates. I have synced and everything and can't get it to work :(

Trackpads are incredibly sensitive to anything on them. I cleaned mine the other day with a Lysol disinfecting wipe and the small bit of "cleaning film" screwed-up the trackpad for half an hour. That probably isn't the problem in your case but it's worth keeping in mind.
Also, it might be a good idea to repair permissions just for fun, and run a good deep-cleaning program like OnyX. Is everything else working normally, and up to speed? While hardware problems happen, I'd take a close look at the software first.

I have noticed that on my 1st gen iPad, in then past week or so, when clicking on a YouTube link while in Safari, after opening YouTube and watching part of the video, then clicking the Home button and relaunching Safari, I will get a crash. Specifically, on relaunching Safari, the most recent page is brought up, but only a blank page. When I hit the button to open all pages, only the top 1 inch displays (the bottom of the screen is white). Then Safari cranes and the home iOS screen opens. Then I launch Safari, usually with no problem.
Anyone else? Known problem? Running latest iOS version.

Buying a computer with a Core 2 Duo CPU sounds like a bad idea right now...
That's what I was thinking too. (Regardless of the operating system)

Check out Ghost Armor.
I just ordered a set from them that claims to be "case friendly"
Maybe someone else who has already tried it out can chime in ?
Thanks for the tip pman, I was wondering if there was any dry install / static cling ones though since I figure the wet install protectors take more skill / patience than I have ;)

Thanks for the response. I copied the imagewriter file from the original system disc (swapping discs is fun) and so the imagewriter now prints. I purchased a cartridge off ebay because the old one had run out of ink, but the images are coming out more "scrunched" than they should be. I believe it is a problem with the feeding mechanism, but any help would be much appreciated. This does not have the original 128k chip and was upgraded, but I do believe it has the orignal disc drive. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Better to buy a dedicated LCD video monitor. You'd have to mount the iPad somewhere, you'd need a hood for it etc. I admit it sounds like a great geeky thing to do, but when it comes down to it there's no easy way to do it technically and even if you could it's largely impractical.

Before you delete the account as Morod gave instructions on, make sure you check in the Advanced tab under Accounts. What you are checking on is to see whether 1) Mail removes the emails from the server after downloading, and 2) at what point it does so. If it doesn't remove emails from the server or if it only does so after a day/week/month you can delete the account with no harm/foul. If you login to your webmail access and find that your messages are no longer accessible there, that's where things get complicated. I'm hoping for your sake that they are still on the website.

Or is it really just tailored for OS X and iOS development?
Yes, this one. IMO the reason to use XCode is if you're doing Cocoa or Cocoa Touch development. It is nice, so I guess large-scale C++ or maybe even C work might be worth trying, but it's going to pump out code for various procs (PPC <before 3.something>, x86, x86_64) in Mach-O format. There may be a way to work out a build environment using makefiles, usw. that will result in a cross-compilation toolchain being used to build for linux, but this isn't an "out of the box" feature as far as I know. They want you to use it to make great Mac software. They don't really want the same great software to be available on Linux and Windows.

Did you originally make the .dmg with Disk Copy or Toast? Apparently sometimes you need to use Disk Copy and set the image type to read only (not CD master) for them to work properly. Then you should just be able to mount in Disk Copy.

When I dragged the image to my desktop it didn't have a white background so not sure why it would have a white background for you.
Same here. Opens in photoshop with a transparent background already.
Was he just talking about fringe? If so, that can be taken care of with Layer -> Matting -> Defringe.
I didn't really see very much of a white fringe on the original, but there was one there.

Isn't this what you want to do?
I want to add a different boot logo, but it won't work. I think this has to do with deleting the file "animate", which gives the animated boot logo.
